The wonderful culinary history of Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville in Crissier close to Lausanne in Switzerland starts in 1953 when the legendary Frédy Girardet and Benjamin Girardet founded the restaurant. Frédy Girardet soon became a gastronomic star and his protégé Philippe Rochat became Switzerland’s most prominent chef. Benoît Violier worked closely with Rochat for about 16 years before he in April 2012 took over the helm as the new Chef Patron. Unfortunately for all of us, he died in January 2016.

Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville is renovated in two major steps, the first step was a complete renovation of the kitchen in 2011 and in August 2012 the new dining room had its opening and a complete transformation of the restaurant was concluded. Hôtel de Ville is already one of the very best restaurants in the world and the new renovation of it secured the gourmet palace to stay amongst the best for a very long time ahead.
