La Toque – red shoes

The chef owners of the best restaurants around the world, the Chef Patrons, are most often very strong personalities with a rock hard will and a clear vision of exactly how they like things to be done. As an employee of a Chef Patron you have better do exactly what you are told, but when you do so you are a part of what makes a truly excellent restaurant. Chef Patron Ken Frank has a brilliant knowledge of how to run a top dining restaurant, do the business and at the same time offer all the guests a joyful unforgettable experience.

Chef Frank walks into his open kitchen every day in his dark chef's suit and red Converse All Star shoes without shoestrings. That is his style and considering how great his La Toque restaurant is, he is obviously doing
something very right, indeed. His contemporary Californian cuisine is innovative and consists of plenty of Asian inspiration, as well as lots of it from Europe. It is typical of the Californian region to have a mix of both Asian and European cuisines and Chef Frank blends the different cultures perfectly in his innovative and delicious cuisine. It tastes light and fresh, and dishes like the salmon slow cooked in duck fat with fresh black truffle and leeks, or the wagyu beef braised oxtail with yellow and black trumpets are some examples of the Chef’s excellent cooking. If you decide to have a seat in Frank’s kitchen at the Chef’s Table you will have a dedicated menu of several dishes like the Japanese Hamachi, avocado and Asian pear with Yuzu Kizami emulsion and Dashi gel. Your taste buds are in for a treat and you are going to have a great evening.

La Toque is located inside the Westin Verasa Napa hotel in downtown Napa. Chef Patron Ken Frank runs his restaurant inside the hotel and he also operates the bar at the hotel. In addition to being a great chef, Ken Frank is also a wine lover far from the ordinary. He personally looks after his impressive stock of wines and he can offer you some ultra rare gems from his wine cellar as long as you drink them in his dining room together with his cuisine. The wine pairings selected by Frank and his team are flawless, however we can recommend you to take a serious look yourself at the wine list since you can order in wines from it which are incredibly hard to find.

La Toque is open for dinner all week and you are assured to have a great experience with top quality cuisine paired with amazing wines and an impeccable service. What more to ask for?
