Le Grill – stunning views
Chef de Cuisine Jean-Phillipe Boro has busy days keeping up with Alain Ducasse’s Le Louis XV based on the ground floor in the same hotel, Hôtel de Paris. Franck Cerutti is the Executive Chef of both Le Louis XV and Le Grill. Hôtel de Paris does certainly offer an impressive restaurant package.
Le Grill based on the eighth floor of the Hôtel de Paris offers a reinterpretation of the Mediterranean gastronomic kitchen and stunning views of the yacht-clogged harbour Port de Hercules and the horizon. During summertime the restaurant opens its rooftop and it almost feels like you are on a yacht. The restaurant’s interior has a maritime yacht style and is elegant, indeed. The style and impression is completely different from Le Louis XV downstairs so do not just visit one of them.
The service is impeccable with a smaller army of staff taking care of you. Chef Jean-Phillipe Boro does a good job cooking almost any kind of fine seafood, and a wide choice of meat dishes including grilled foie gras and Pyrennean leg of lamb. The guests of Le Grill share the same access to wines as the guests of Le Louis XV, which means the biggest wine cellar in the world of around 560,000 bottles and around 4,000 references.
Nothing is cheap in Monaco and the same goes with the bill of Le Grill that will set you back a bit, but you will have the best endless sea and surrounding views in the country paired with some fine food and an outstanding wine list. So what more to ask for on a sunny day at the Riviera?
