Data & citations
WBP Stars publishes machine-readable data and clear citation guidance so researchers, journalists, partners, and automated tools can reference our reviews accurately and link back to the canonical source.
Canonical source
Every published review has one canonical URL. When you quote a score, excerpt, or fact, please link to that page and name the publisher.
Suggested citation format:
WBP Stars, “[Review title],” [canonical URL], accessed [date you retrieved the page].
Our editorial scores use a 0–100 scale. API responses include minimum_score, maximum_score, and score so the scale is explicit.
Rating methodology
How we assess properties is explained here (human-readable):

JSON API (citable data)
Read-only JSON endpoints describe published places and reviews. No authentication is required for public data; please use reasonable request rates.

Query parameters (optional): page, per_page (max 50), post_type (restaurant, hotel, winery, travel-experience), orderby (date, modified, title, score), order (asc / desc), excerpt_chars (length of text excerpt on list items).
Single place by ID or slug
https://www.wbpstars.com/wp-json/wbpstars/v1/places/{id-or-slug}

Optional query parameter: include_content=false to omit full plain-text body.
WordPress REST index
The global API index lists namespaces and routes and includes a wbpstars_citable block with direct links:
https://www.wbpstars.com/wp-json/
llms.txt
For assistants and crawlers that support the llms.txt convention, we expose a short machine-oriented overview at the site root:
https://www.wbpstars.com/llms.txt
Structured data (JSON-LD)
Individual review pages include schema.org JSON-LD (e.g. Review, place type such as Hotel or Restaurant, Organization, breadcrumbs, and related entities where applicable). This complements the JSON API and helps search engines interpret each page.
Licensing & reuse
Copyright and reuse terms for text, images, and video remain governed by applicable law and our site terms. The API is provided to support accurate citation and attribution; it does not grant a licence to republish full proprietary content outside what your agreement or law allows. When in doubt, link to the canonical URL and quote briefly with attribution.
