Location & Lodge
The Sabi Sand Game Reserve, nestled on the western edge of Kruger National Park in South Africa, is one of Africa’s premier safari destinations, celebrated for its exclusive and intimate wildlife experiences. Easily accessible by car of via a short flight from Johannesburg to nearby airports like Skukuza or Nelspruit, Sabi Sand provides a convenient gateway to the heart of the South African bush. Unlike the neighbouring Kruger National Park, which allows self-guided tours, Sabi Sand is a private reserve with expertly guided safari drives, offering a more immersive and controlled experience. Rangers can drive off-road in this area, which ensures amazing up close encounters with wildlife.
The reserve’s open borders with Kruger facilitate free movement of wildlife, while its diverse habitats are home to the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), along with rarer species like cheetah, wild dog, and abundant birdlife.
Known for its remarkable leopard sightings, Sabi Sand is one of the best places in the world to observe these elusive cats up close, making it a bucket-list destination for wildlife enthusiasts.
Nestled in the heart of Sabi Sand, Dulini Moya offers an unrivalled and luxurious safari experience. The surrounding bushveld, teeming with diverse wildlife, provides a picturesque backdrop to daily game drives and bush walks, allowing guests the rare opportunity to encounter the “Big Five” up close. The lodge’s architecture and décor mirror the natural landscape, with earthy tones, organic materials, and open spaces that capture sweeping views of the wilderness. Dulini Moya’s intimate setting, with only six suites (or better, villas), ensures a personalized experience, allowing guests to unwind in complete seclusion while fully immersed in the African bush.
Sister lodges Dulini River and Dulini Leadwood provide additional accommodation options. Each lodge features unique elements, such as private pools and exclusive lounge areas, creating a bespoke experience in South Africa’s wild heart. Dulini Moya is the most classic of the three lodges, with atmospheric communal areas characterized by a warm rustic design with robust natural stone, leather furnishings, rich hardwoods, and elegant lighting. Relax in the elegant Winter Lounge, explore the lodge’s curated wine cellar featuring fine South African wines, or meet fellow travellers in the guest lounge, which overlooks indigenous gardens and the bushveld wilderness.
