Hotel Ristorante La Gallura has a small hotel as well, but is most famous for its small, narrow and personal seafood restaurant. You enter the restaurant through the hotel’s reception and food will be in boxes already in the small hallway before you enter the little dining room. A table with a buffet is in the centre of the dining room with different ingredients that you can have to your main course as well, such as asparagus and sprouts.
Hotel Ristorante La Gallura is the proprietress Rita Denza. She is the owner and the Head Chef and she will be around you for most of your dinner serving you numerous starters like the typical pecorino cheese and put a basket with fresh fish under your nose for you to choose from. The fish will be cooked as you prefer by three different options; in wine, with salt or grilled. The fish does in most cases taste really good so prepare a fish is something Rita Denza knows in detail and has been doing for decades.
You will have a different dinner experience at Hotel Ristorante La Gallura and not like the typical fine dining experience. It is more like coming home to grandma when having a dinner at Hotel Ristorante La Gallura with Rita Denza almost forcing you to try her different dishes. Everything about this Sardinian classic is old style and traditional and you will have a much more pleasant experience if you speak Italian.
Some people might find Hotel Ristorante La Gallura charming and appreciate the food that is served as well, but it is obvious that the restaurant lacks on some departments and has lost some of its original qualities over the years.
