The restaurant is located around the main pool of the hotel and the tables offer some of the best dining views one can imagine. With the almighty ocean and the caldera just in front, and the town of Oia at the right side, a meal at Petra is a panoramic experience. It is an outdoor restaurant and the design of the tables is minimalistic yet comfortable, directing the attention to the dishes and the views. A unique and extremely romantic experience is the Panorama Balcony, a private dinner table for couples or small groups in the most spectacular setting. With their dinner menu, Chefs Vassilis Roussos and Tasilo Stefatos offer a fine-dining Greek experience at Petra Restaurant. Greek classics are reinterpreted and elevated with the best ingredients. A tasting menu starts with some carefully created amuses-bouches, such as a delicious cone with cream and caviar. The dishes combine luxurious Greek ingredients with Greek cooking techniques, such as the Athinaiki King Crab salad with a shoulder Salad, vegetables and grilled crab leg. Some preparations also have a French influence, such as the “Cretan Royale”, which combines lamb in a puff pastry (‘en croute’) with mustard ice cream. If the chefs serve international preparations, there is always a Greek influence as well. Good examples here are the delicious “Black cod” with miso, Greek Vinsanto Santorinis, and Fava, or the Wagyu main course with polenta, eggplant and Greek Mavrotragano wine. Make sure to save some room for dessert, as these are extremely delicious as well. Our tip? The dessert “Halvadopita”: Almond Nougatine with Almond ice cream and puffed rice.
