Restaurant Steinberg
Jochberg, Austria
Restaurant Steinberg is one of the restaurants in the Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol. The hotel is located in Jochberg close to the legendary sports town of Kitzbuehel. This luxurious hotel with its own character stands out with first-class service, stylish interior design and various facilities. You can discover more about this beautiful hotel in our hotel section.
The hotel features three different restaurant options, all with a passion for the very best fresh products. Fresh handmade Florentine biscuits, antipasti and delicious coffees are served in the Piazza il firenzini café. Restaurant Sra Bua offers an excursion to eastern lands of taste, a world of exotic herbs, spices and vegetables where dishes are prepared using subtle Asian cooking methods. In this Euro-Asian restaurant Tirol meets Asia! At Restaurant Steinberg they serve a “Junge Tiroler Heimatküche”, with Mediterranean influence. In addition, the hotel has two private dining rooms – Fondue Stuben and a cafeteria at the wellness area. During summer, when the weather is nice, burger variations and homemade refreshing drinks await you in the Mountain Health Bar.
Executive Chef Caspar Bork wields the culinary sceptre in the Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol and knows the gourmet industry very well. The Berlin born chef cooked five years with Henrik Otto in Berlin. He started his career in the Excelsior Hotel Ernst Cologne, which was followed with La Vision Restaurant Cologne where he met Henrik Otto. He followed his mentor to Berlin in the Ritz Carlton hotel and later the Lorenz Adlon restaurant in the Kempinski Hotel Adlon Berlin where he became Otto’s sous-chef. When first moving to Jochberg, Bork became the Sous Chef of Mario Hofmann before taking over the full operation as Executive Chef. Casper Bork’s great passion is the Mediterranean cuisine, but he also enjoys preparing the Tyrolean cuisine with down-to-earth philosophy and the use of fresh produce. The Chef tries to give the classics a lighter touch and focuses on offering gluten-free dishes. Whether you enjoy à la carte meals, menus or buffet dishes, you will experience high quality, pure and genuine products.
The Steinberg Restaurant has a lot to offer. Guests can opt for a half-board option which includes a daily four-course menu, choose for à la carte dishes, or even opt for an eight course chef’s tasting menu. The à la carte menu has a choice for everybody’s taste; a wide mix of classics with regional Tyrolean inspiration or some of timeless dishes from around Europe. Cheese dumplings are served with lettuce and nut butter while crispy turbot comes with coconut gel, an apricot sphere and truffle potato mousseline. Do not forget to try the chef’s signature dish: lamb stew on dark brown Farmhouse bread with roasted onions, cranberry sour cream and potato chips. The lamb comes from just next to the restaurant where the hotel’s neighbour takes care of the small produce.
In hotel Kempinski Das Tirol diners are spoilt with choices: classic Tyrolean dishes, a menu with a surprising range of options or a nice tasting menu, all with a taste that can only be found in the mountains.
