Joël Robuchon Restaurant in Singapore was opened in April 2011 and is headed by Executive Chef Tomonori Danzaki who joined the legendary Chef already in 1994. Japanese Chef Danzaki was mainly responsible for the success of Joël Robuchon Restaurant at MGM Grand in Las Vegas already in 2005, and he was also a part of the pre-opening team at Château Restaurant Joël Robuchon in Tokyo. Danzaki comes from a family of sumo wrestling traditions, but he chose a different career which started back in 1981 when he was a waiter at a small restaurant in Tokyo. The young Chef attended Tokyo Cookery Academy to become a fully trained professional, and he later took on a job at Les Anges in 1986 where he also met Joël Robuchon for the first time. Monsieur Robuchon quickly discovered the talent and skills of Tomonori Danzaki so it did not take long before he was a part of the Robuchon universe.
