The Okura Prestige Hotel Bangkok – Japanese luxury

Picture
Bangkok has many luxury hotels to offer but few are as subtle as the Okura Prestige Hotel, one of the high-end branches of the Okura Hotels & Resorts next to Tokyo, Taipei and Amsterdam.

The entire hotel is styled in Japanese minimalism with lots of marble and the rooms have a grey and black interior. That might sound dark but it gives the 240-room hotel a more mature, refined atmosphere as it caters to both business travellers as well as tourists.

Interieur and rooms

All rooms in the hotel are luxurious and can be divided into three categories: Deluxe, Club and Suites. Even the entry level Deluxe is more than spacious enough for city trip in Bangkok but those who want to splurge on a suite have five different choices with the Imperial Suite being the absolute pinnacle of the hotel: over 300 square metres with its own kitchen and dining room overlooking the Bangkok skyline.

Assets

Despite the central location in downtown Bangkok, the Okura Prestige has everything to offer that you do not have to leave the hotel for a weekend. Those who want to stay fit can make use of the gym while others who want to get pampered can book a wide variety of treatments at the spa. What stands out the most however is the outside infinity pool overlooking the skyline.

Those who do want to go out can either walk to the nearby sky train or take a short taxi ride to venture into town to visit one of the nearby restaurant or cocktail bars.

Gastronomy

Fine dining lovers can eat their heart out as the hotel is home to both Elements, a French fine dining restaurant with one Michelin star as well as a refined Japanese restaurant called Yamazato. Guests have the same choice for breakfast and lunch: either a large continental buffet or a Japanese set meal. In addition, the hotel has a large selection of scones and pastries for afternoon tea.

The Okura Prestige Hotel offers all the luxury you need for a great time in Bangkok thanks to the spacious rooms, excellent fine dining and an amazing pool. Whether it is for business or for pleasure, this hotel is always a good choice.

The Okura Prestige Bangkok scored 82 points of 100 points in our rating system. View our Top 60 of the world. Back to the reviews.
