Fischers Fritz is the culinary restaurant of the five star Regent Hotel in the centre of Berlin. The Regent hotel is under management of the prestigious Formosa International Hotels Corporation group. Regent Berlin is centrally located at the beautiful and well-known Gendarmenmarkt Square in the historical centre of Berlin, which gives remarkable views of the two 18th-century cathedrals, as well as the old Concert Hall. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel and is easily accessible via the hotel lobby. Both hotel and restaurant guests are invited to sample some of the exquisite fine dining dishes in a very classical and luxurious ambience.
Executive Chef Christian Lohse is one of Germany’s famous chefs. He has a long resume with renowned restaurants such as L’Esperance in Vézelay in France, The Dorchester in London, where he was also private chef for the Sultan of Brunei, and the Schwarzer Hahn restaurant in Deidesheim. Christian Lohse learned his culinary skills during a field experience in France where he worked for the Charles Barrier restaurant in Tours and Guy Savoy in Paris.
The restaurant is decorated in a classical style with some surprising modern artworks. Executive Chef Christian Lohse and his team offer upscale fish and refined seafood specialties. His traditional French cuisine is balanced with a contemporary twist. The Fischer’s Fritz menu complements the restaurant’s atmosphere of balance and class. Simple creations put the fresh main ingredients in the centre. Breton lobster is served with a cream of peas and melissa and pickled pied bleu mushrooms. Signature dishes are the Terrine of foie gras and smoked eel that is served with a jam of purple eggplants and pepper caramel, or the Suprême of Atlantic turbot, fried in flavoured butter with a fricassee of beans and chanterelles and a shellfish Choron sauce. The dessert menu offers classical dishes like a crème brûlée but also more creative dishes like the blackberry and potato combination. In this dish, potato ice cream is served on salted hazelnut caramel and combined with a crispy blackberry cylinder, filled with a potato mousseline and caramelised milk powder. The dessert is finished with hazelnuts and blackberry powder.
Restaurant Fischers Fritz is the only restaurant in Germany having the prestigious lobster press from the French silver manufacturer Christofle. Worldwide there are only five of these lobster presses. The press is used for a special shellfish preparation ‘Homard à la presse’. The lobster shell and roe are pressed in the silver device, and the intense extracted juice is beaten together with a stock into a rich lobster mousse, which is served to the guests along with the lobster meat. The restaurant has an extensive wine list, which comprises over 470 wines. Another eye catcher of the restaurant is the Martini trolley serving bitter or sweet Martini cocktails.
Restaurant Fischers Fritz has a superb location in the centre of Berlin. It is a great getaway for a quiet dinner in a classical setting. The menu focuses on classic, rich dishes, with recognisable top products and the best of the sea.
