Restaurant Gutsschenke is housed in the Schlosshotel Monrepos Ludwigsburg, located at the lakeshore of the Monrepos See. The location is simply amazing. The gourmet restaurant Gutsschenke is housed in a separate building just in front of the hotel. The restaurant combines the atmosphere of a historic building with delicious fine dining. In this romantic decor, a young and passionate team, led byHead chef Ben Benasr and restaurant manager Guiseppe Sacarmuzzino,welcome guests to enjoy a delicious gourmet experience.
The restaurant consists of two dining areas. First, there is a newly renovated ‘Wappenzimmer’ which is perfect for private dinners and receptions. At the other side of the building one can find the main dining room. The first part of the dining room is reserved for Gutsschenke restaurant, which serves a regional cuisine with a slightly Mediterranean touch. Guests can also enjoy some typical local dishes like ‘rostbraten with spätzle’ and ‘Schäbisch-Hällisches pork and beans’ in a beautiful and cosy atmosphere. The second part of the main room is the Gutsschenke Fine Dining area, where the Chef serves a more refined an elaborate cuisine.
Head Chef Ben Benasr is an international chef with big potential. He was born in Tunisia and started in the parental bakery in Tunis. Very quickly, he realised that becoming a kitchen chef was his dream and started travelling. He has been trained by some of Europe’s prominent chefs, like Pierre Gagnaire and Joël Robuchon. In France, also restaurant La Mirande and Le Cloitre Saint Louis came on his path. When moving to Germany he became kitchen chef in Kesselhaus, Cube, Ochsen and Landhaus Stricker Sylt before moving to Gutsschenke. This international experience is translated today in refined and creative dishes with influences from all over the world.
Guests can enjoy the seasonal and cosmopolitan fine dining creationsat Gutsschenke during dinner services only. Head chef Ben Benasr combines the atmosphere of the historic building with the joy of a light, international and creative cuisine. The kitchen team impresses gourmets with modern creations which interpret classic French cuisine with international spices and other ingredients. Like a well-balanced Paella interpretation with a carpaccio of pulpo, coquille, calamares, sot-l’y-laisse and an intense fumet. Or the starter with grilled filet of yellowfin tuna with fennel textures, avocado, blood orange and an escabeche sauce. On the side, a tuna sandwich with avocado is served. The saddle of venison is perfectly paired with sautéed morels, fermented turnips and a liquorice jus. Ben Benasr and his young kitchen team were awarded with 1 star in the Michelin Guide 2018 and 16 points in the Gault & Millau 2018.
