Both the hotel and the restaurant have over the years become the place to stay at for anyone who is someone in the mega city of São Paulo. During the annual fashion week the hotel will be crowded with super models in addition to the patrons and the it crowd which is always present. Life is good for the Italian Fasano family who are the owners and have run the Fasano empire for more than a century now.

Rogério Fasano is indeed involved in the cooking of Brazil’s best Italian cuisine. The food is mainly inspired by the Milanese cuisine, but you will have dishes with flavours from all over Italy. But the gastronomic history of the Fasano family started a long time ago back in 1902 when Milanese Vittorio Fasano arrived in São Paulo and founded the Brasserie Paulista.

The family’s cooking legacy continued with Ruggero Fasano and several famous restaurants and bakeries later Ruggero’s son Fabrizio Fasano took over the business. Fabrizio and his son Rogério Fasano today run a restaurant and hotel group with numerous restaurants and the signature restaurant is the Restaurante Fasano that is located at the Rua Vittorio Fasano in the middle of the exclusive Jardins neighbourhood.

The Fasano family has being involved in developing and evolving the standard of many of São Paulo’s restaurants and even the gastronomic standard of Brazil with its traditional Italian fare of top quality, and the family continues to improve.

The dining room of Restaurante Fasano is chic and strict, but not too strict compared to many other fine dining venues around the world, however more strict than most other restaurants in São Paulo and definitely more expensive than most other restaurants in the country, but still reasonably on an international level and the quality is great with some of the best ingredients available in the country.

Of course Restaurante Fasano is a must when you are in São Paulo and looking for a bit more top-notch. There can be some inconsistency problems with ups and downs on some of the dishes, but mostly you will have a great evening at one of Brazil’s best restaurants that easily can compete on an international level as well.
