SK Mat & Människor is situated on the west coast of Sweden in Gothenburg. It is a place that plays homage to the Swedish flavours and the Swedish food heritage, which itself has always been influenced by global flavours and spices. The SK in the name are the initials of Chef Patron Stefan Karlsson who is a well experienced and rewarded Swedish chef. In 1995 he won the title Swedish Chef and has also put together the menu for the Nobel Prize dinner several times. He opened SK Mat & Människor 2014, but ran before that among others the fine dining restaurant Fond for over ten years.
The restaurant has a friendly interior and is nicely dominated by the kitchen. There are no walls to the kitchen and you will be able to enjoy the chefs preparing and sometimes serving the food to you directly. And if you have any questions about the food you can ask the chefs directly.
The presentation of the food is not complicated but the thinking and flavours are well thought out. Stefan Karlsson has a long experience and the dishes are a good expression from a chef who knows his cooking and flavours. Together with Head Chef Martin Moses and his team they prepare seasonal dishes often with local ingredients. You can either go for the à la carte or the tasting menus.
Translated SK Mat & Människor means Food & People and that is what you will find when visiting SK Mat & Människor; a nice vibe of people including guests and chefs and authentic well tasting food in a relaxed place.
