The restaurant is situated in Hôtel Hermitage in Monaco and the hotel is one of our favourites at Côte d’Azur. And that does not say little when you think about how many great hotels there are on the French Riviera.
Vistamar is designed by Pierre Yves Rochon and looks pretty smart and inviting, and in the summers you can enjoy some great harbour viewings from the terrace.
Chef de Cuisine Joël Garault offers a traditional menu, but it would be nice with some more contemporary recipes as well. Most is cooked to top class and the presentations are beautiful.
You should consider making a visit off peak season since Vistamar occasionally feels like a tourist trap. However the wines at the wine list will make you happy anytime of the year, so make sure to order in some fine wine.
Vistamar is in a country with many amazing restaurants. There is fierce competition from Yoshi, Joël Robuchon Monte-Carlo and Le Louis XV amongst others, but you will have a meal in one of the country’s finest settings.
