Location

The resort’s location is one of the most important aspects of the Hurawalhi experience. Located on a private island which is about 400 meters long by 165 meters wide, surrounded by the ocean and a beautiful lagoon, paradise is kind of an understatement. The seaplane transfer takes about 40-minutes from Malé international airport and definitely is the best way to arrive at Hurawalhi Island Resort. It is an adults-only resort and a perfect choice for a romantic, luxurious and/or honeymoon destination.

Rooms & Suites

At Hurawalhi, guests live the island life. Correction: the villa island life. The resort offers the choice between 5 different types of villas, divided over the beach and above the water. There are 90 villas in total: 30 Ocean Pool Villas, 21 Beach Sunset Pool Villas, 9 Beach Pool Villas, 15 Romantic Ocean Villas and 15 Ocean Villas. All of them are luxurious, without being over the top. They emphasize the beauty of the surrounding nature to create a tropical chic atmosphere. The villas are spacious, with over 100 square meters of space, and all have private terraces. Some of the villas boast a private pool and/or a private stretch of beach. The views on the ocean and the island are idyllic and especially the sunset side villas offer tremendous views. Guests have the choice between the following villa types:

• Beach Pool Villas : these 132 square meter villas are located right on the beach and combine a private pool with a private stretch of sand.
• Beach Sunset Pool Villas : the sunset pool villas are similar to the Beach Pool Villas, but located at the sunset side. The best option for couples looking for beachside romance with stunning views.
• Ocean Villas : ocean villas feature 105 square meter of space and have direct access to the lagoon. The views on the ocean are mesmerising, making this room type a one-of-a-kind Maldives’ experience.
• Romantic Ocean Villas : these villas are similar to the Ocean Villas but located at the sunset side. Same kind of luxury, but even better views.
• Ocean Pool Villas : probably the most popular villas, the overwater Ocean Pool Villas are sleek and elegant. These 132 square meter villas offer a private infinity pool with stunning views on the ocean, as well as direct lagoon access from the sundeck. A true Maldives classic.

The interior design of all villas is light and contemporary, combining natural materials with earthy colours. The white, blue, brown and green colours harmonise with the colours of the surrounding nature. While these surroundings are rich and lush, the interior, with its straight lines and smart appointed decorations, gives balance and eases the mind. Each villa features a king size bed, air-conditioning & ceiling fan, safe, sitting area, wooden floor, wardrobes, vanity, workspace with charging stations, a private sundeck with sunbeds and lounge/dining area. Villa amenities include a wine fridge, minibar, espresso machine, tea and coffee facilities, Bluetooth sound bar, a 48-inch flat screen IPTV, and more. The bathroom is spacious and luxurious, offering a double sink and a rain shower.

Canneli Restaurant is the resort’s main restaurant located right on the beach. Buffet style meals with the freshest ingredients from the land and the sea are served here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests can enjoy their meal indoor or outdoor and live action cooking stations bring a vibrant atmosphere.Lovers of Asian (Street) Food will adore Kashibo, Taste of Asia, where Chinese, Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese dishes are served in a beautiful over-water restaurant.One of the newest and most remarkable restaurants is JFK or Junk Food Kitchen. Comfort food is key here: juicy burgers, spicy nachos or cauliflower buffalo wings, it’s all there, besides some more guilt-free options, too.Other dining options include in-villa dining, romantic candlelit beach banners or a private beachside Chef’s Table.For drinks, guests can choose between the Coco Bar and Kashibo pool and over-water bars for all-day drinks and cocktails, or the Champagne Pavilion for Champagne sunsets. Executive Chef Eduoard Deplus is responsible for all restaurants at Hurawalhi and does an amazing job offering a diverse dining offer, where everybody will find something for his or her taste.
