You will find Manresa south of San Francisco in a small town which might not be the most obvious place to have a world class restaurant in, but the drive from San Francisco (for everyone not from the area) is so worth it. Manresa was originally opened in 2002 and the name comes from a medieval village in the Spanish Catalonia, as well as from a strip of shore south of Santa Cruz, where the Chef lives. The restaurant was redesigned in 2011 and the new lounge and dining room offer a contemporary ambience which is a perfect fit for Chef Kinch’s cuisine.

Chef Patron David Kinch has a drive and passion only the very best chefs around the world can match. His vision is crystal clear and his culinary creativity is amazing. His cuisine is based on contemporary Californian, but it is heavily influenced by France and Catalonia. Kinch has an enormous respect for vegetables, flowers and herbs, and he completely understands the importance of the very best local organic produce. It depends from day to day what exactly will be served at Manresa because it is impossible to know which ingredients are the best for each specific day. David Kinch never chooses the broad path or what might bring the best profit to the restaurant, no, he chooses what he considers to be the best cuisine for the day and the final result is impeccable.

Chef Kinch has travelled all over the world and worked in top kitchens in Europe, Japan and in the United States which is also a reason why he is so creative and constantly reinvents and improves his cuisine.
