Ristorante i Portici is located in the heart of Bologna. Enter the doors of I Portici Hotel Bologna, a design gem, and walk over to the Eden Theatre. The dining room of 40 seats is amazing with original Liberty frescoes of Belle Epoque style. You feel that a restaurant of this style should have a cuisine to match it and luckily Head Chef Agostino Iacobucci will offer you just that.
Chef Iacobucci was born in Italian Campania, in Castellammare di Stabia to be exact, and his passion for gastronomy started at an early age. He spent a lot of time as a child in his aunt’s restaurant near his hometown. It did not take long before he had prestigious jobs at restaurants like Taverna Diciotto in Vico Equense and later on a position as Head Chef for La Cantinella in Naples. Agostino Iacobucci became truly recognised at La Cantinella, but it was a natural step to proceed to Bologna and become the helm of the Ristorante i Portici which he did in 2012.
Chef Agostino Iacobucci was born next to the Mediterranean and in Campania so it was natural for the Chef to bring the best top produce from his region into the cuisine of i Portici. The menu is changed regularly, but you can expect a constant top level of the produce. You will be impressed by the Chef’s cuisine and carefully prepared dishes so make room in your calendar for a full evening out.
There are two different tasting menus to choose from, one called “Taste of the Land”, the other “Taste of the Sea”. Both offered at reasonable prices and in addition you also have an à la carte menu. We can recommend a starter like the “La triglia di scoglio” with red mullet crunchy fillet on vegetable ratatouille and burnt ricotta cheese together with Aglianico sauce and soft fruit ice cream. As a main you should try the “La Guancia di vitello” with veal cheek cooked at a low temperature with potato schiacciatina, chards with extra virgin oil, liquorice powder, lobster medallion and its bisque. These two dishes are just two examples of the broad repertoire from the Chef so expect to have a treat.
