Hotel Heritage is a luxury 5-star boutique hotel situated right in the heart of one of Europe’s – or even the world’s – most beautiful cities, Bruges. The ‘Place du Marché’ (or ‘Grote Markt’ in Dutch) is just a stone throw away and all famous sights of this stunning mediaeval city are easily accessible on foot. A walk through the city centre, with its picturesque canals, cobbled streets and romantic medieval buildings, is an excellent way to start your stay.
The hotel itself is located in a prestigious 19th century building in a quiet street. It was initially built in 1869 as a private mansion and transformed into a bank afterwards. In 1991, the property was acquired by Johan and Isabelle Creytens. The couple immediately fell in love with the grandeur and warm atmosphere of the building. After some extensive renovations, the property reobtained its former prestige. In 1993, Hotel Heritage opened its doors.
The interior of Hotel Heritage is stylish and sophisticated. High ceilings combine classical elegance with a spacious and luxurious feeling. Crystal flares, marble, curved parquet floors, and mirrors with golden edges, complement the luxurious atmosphere. Rooms are cosy and romantic, with lots of fabrics and historical details, but with the latest technology as well. There are 22 rooms in three categories: classic rooms (20m2), Deluxe rooms (25-30m2) and Junior suites (40m2). Personal touches like Champagne, rose bouquets and tailor-made activities complete the Heritage experience. There is also a wellness area with sauna, jacuzzi and fitness room, located in the vaulted cellars of the building.
Today, the 5-star hotel is a member of Relais & Châteaux, which brings together the most prestigious boutique hotels and gourmet restaurants in the world. For over 60 years, Relais & Châteaux has elevated ‘art de vivre’ to a form of art. The chain was initiated from a collaboration between top chefs and some of the world’s best hoteliers. Today, more than 500 members combine great gastronomy with excellent hotel management and offer their guests unique hospitality experiences.
Hotel Heritage definitely fits into that philosophy. With the restaurant ‘Le Mystique’, located on the ground floor of the hotel, the hotel has one of the best upcoming fine-dining restaurants in Bruges. Head Chef Gregory Slembrouck has been trained by some of Belgium’s most prominent chefs. In his dishes, he combines refinement and creativity with excellent produce. He and his team offer a wide choice of traditional French and Belgian dishes, combined and modernized with influences from all over the world.
