Jonnie and Thérèse Boer are not only responsible for one of the best restaurants in the world, they also manage a unique hotel on an even more unique location. Their contemporary, modern approach towards gastronomy, design and lifestyle led to the opening of the ‘Librije’s Hotel’ in 2008. The location: the former prison of Zwolle, a monumental building from the beginning of the eighteenth century.

Librije’s Hotel offers its guests what Jonnie and Thérèse describe as the “ultimate hotel experience”. The hotel features 19 luxurious rooms and suites, a butler service, a new Mercedes Benz S 400 HYBRID as hotel taxi at the door, several sloops at the guests disposal, and a unique, personal service. On top of that, guest can dine at De Librije, a unique restaurant on its own, which is located in the courtyard of the hotel.

Several elements of the prison have been retained and the monumental character gives all of the rooms a surprising and warm atmosphere. Guests can even recognise the wooden construction of the cells on the top floor of Librije’s Hotel. Each room has been decorated in a modern, contemporary and fresh style and is equipped with Auping beds, flat screens and Bose sound systems. Suites are spacious and include extras like a big Jacuzzi and separate living rooms. For special occasions, guests can book the beautiful Magnolia suite. This honeymoon suite consists of three open spaces including a spacious living room. The stunning bathroom is furnished with a comfortable round bath, a steam shower and Swarovski crystals on the wall.

The interior of the restaurant section is designed in cooperation with interior designer Eric Kuster who created an eclectic, modern, organic and surprising ensemble. The perfect environment to enjoy Jonnie Boer’s gastronomic creations.
