Palais Hansen Kempinski is one of the best hotels in Vienna and one of the newest Kempinski properties in Austria. The luxurious five star hotel opened its doors in March 2013 but the building itself was built (as a hotel) for the World Exhibition in 1873.
The location of the Palais Hansen Kempinski is excellent, on the famous Ringstraße in the centre of one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. It is about half an hour drive from the international airport and the city centre and its famous sights are easily accessible by foot. Just as many of the buildings on the Ringstraße, the hotel’s façade oozes colonial grandeur and neo-classicism. Once inside, the stylish lobby lounge welcomes the guests. It is an all-day meeting point – great for coffee, afternoon tea, a snack or an apéritif. On the right side of the lobby one can find the lobby bar, a beautiful, modern bar where the bartenders mix excellent cocktails or serve whatever one desires. The drinks are often accompanied by live piano music during the evening. The cigar lounge is the ideal place to unwind from a busy day in the city or after a nice dinner.
There are 152 rooms in the hotel, of which 54 suites. All of them are spacious, ranging from 32 up to 68 square metres. And as in all Kempinski hotels, all of them are extremely luxurious. As the hotel is brand new, state-of-the-art technology can be found everywhere, such as electronic buttons to operate the shower and bathtub, iPads, and Nespresso machines. The design and decoration is neo-classic, with lots of marble, soft colours, comfortable fabrics and well-placed carpets. Some of the rooms offer beautiful views on the historical buildings of the neighbourhood.
The hotel features a beautiful, cosy spa that is inspired by the four European seasons and decorated in the impressive colours of the Ottoman Empire. Its facilities include a modern gym, different saunas, a hydro pool and several treatment rooms. A great place to relax and unwind or to start your day with some exercise.
The Palais Hansen Kempinski hotel would not be a Kempinski hotel if there was not a big focus on gastronomy. The main hotel restaurant is named Die Küche and is open for breakfast (weekends until 2pm), lunch and dinner. During dinner, guests can enjoy show cooking and there are often special events. Edvard is the gastronomic restaurant of the hotel, recognised with several culinary awards.
Palais Hansen Kempinski is definitely one of the best accommodation choices in Vienna. The main assets include an excellent location, great restaurants, a cosy city spa, and, of course, the beautiful and luxurious rooms. The perfect base to explore the city of Vienna.
