Ski huts & Perrier-Jouët Gourmet Gondola Cabin
The Hochgurgl area has 6 ski huts, the highest located on 3030 meter with a unique viewing platform on the mountains of Italy and a panorama bar in futurist design and all being managed by the Scheiber family. Each ski hut has its own charm and a sun terrace. They are all worth a visit. Our special attention goes to restaurant Donwhill Grill at an altitude of 1780 meter and Top Mountain Crosspoint at an altitude of 2200 meter.
The Downhill Grill at the base station of Hochgurgl is a popular spot among steak lovers and fans of Tirolean specialties. Varied delicacies from the open grill promise a wonderful experience. The choice is all yours: rib eye steaks, prime ribs or spare ribs, all steak variations are of prime quality and cooked excellently. If you are hungry for traditional Tirolean cuisine, you can sample all local classics – ranging from dumplings to groestl.
Top Mountain Crosspoint is a new restaurant with modern style hospitality, serving traditional Austrian and Italian cuisine and there is a handmade wood-fired pizza oven. Thanks to its cozy, light-flooded ambience and the large sun terrace it makes a really stylish stop-off point at any time of the day.
In the Perrier-Jouët Gourmet Gondola, which can be booked exclusively, even skiing becomes a minor matter. While the gondola is on its way right to the heart of this picture-book mountain scenery to an altitude of 2840 meters, up to 5 passengers are spoiled with fine drinks and excellent appetizers. Caviar, smoked salmon, freshly prepared beef tartar and other delicacies are served with a bottle Perrier-Jouët champagne. A perfect toast while enjoying this extraordinary and romantic gourmet experience in style.
Spa & Wellness
Hotel guests can relax at a large spa of 2200 square meter. The heated outdoor pool gives a 360° panoramic view on the Ötztal’s three-thousander peaks. The big indoor pool is 10×18 meters. The teaching at Austria’s highest ski school is superb. Snowboard and ski courses can be booked at the reception of the hotel. Professional instructors know the region, speak English and get you safe through the day.
The Motorcycle Museum as ski break and the highest way to the South
The impressive Top Mountain Crosspoint with Europe’s highest Motorcycle Museum (above 2175m) is located in the midst of the stunning Ötztal mountain scenery, right at the bottom of Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road, the most attractive and highest route to cross the Alps to South Tyrol and to Lake Garda in Italy.
The modern motorcycle museum is decorated with wood and the 2 colours black and white contributes to the grandness of the atmosphere filling the place. The museum fulfils great expectations with more than 280 classic motorbikes from over 100 international manufacturers on a surface area of 3000 square meter. Samples from several countries starting with the year 1894 take you through the history of the motorcycle. It’s the only museum that contains 17 samples of Brough superior. The owners aim to become the best motorcycle museum and are still looking for unique samples. They frequently change special exhibitions and we were lucky to see historical snow vehicles. You can have access to the museum with your ski outfit as it’s located next to the gondola and the “panoramarestaurant”, an unexpected and nice break during a day of skifun.
