Eagle Tented Lodge is a lodge located near one of Namibia’s highlights: Etosha National Park. This world-famous park is located in the northwestern region of the county. It is a game reserve since March 1907 and got the status of a national park in 1967. Etosha National Park spans an area of no less 22,270 km2 and gets its name from the Etosha salt pan, which covers 23% of the area of Etosha National Park. The pan is so large it can even be seen from space. The park is regarded as one of the best wildlife destinations in the world. It is home to hundreds of species of mammals, birds and reptiles, including several threatened and endangered species such as the black rhinoceros. The abundant wildlife congregates around several waterholes located inside park, which ensures almost guaranteed game sightings. It is also one of the most accessible game reserves in Namibia and Southern Africa and visitors can even drive their own vehicle within the park.

Many of the best places to stay are located just outside the park. Eagle Tented Lodge is one of them. The Lodge is about a one-hour drive from Etosha and part of the Epacha Game Lodge, which offers an experience filled with an abundance of Namibian wildlife and topped with majestic views over the surrounding mountains and valleys. At Eagle Tented Lodge guest can stay close to nature in authentic safari tents without compromising on the comfort or luxury of a hotel room. The unique lodge hosts 16 comfortable tents in the hills, close to nature and with amazing views over the own Epacha Game Reserve. The main building of the Lodge is built from natural rock and thatched roofs. From everywhere at the property, guests can enjoy breath-taking views over the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Rooms And Suites

At Eagle Tented Lodge guests stay close to nature, in one of the 16 Safari Tents. At sunset, there is no better place to watch the sun set behind the horizon from the terrace of your tent. Two types of tents are available:

Hemingway safari tents : the spacious Hemingway-style tent features an outdoor shower and en-suite bathroom; a mini fridge; coffee and tea facilities; daily room and laundry services, mosquito nets and a hairdryer. The tents have solid wooden floors, are very light and combine white, bright colours with blue accents. They have sitting and sleeping areas and some offer private dining areas as well. The bathrooms are luxurious and the in-room amenities are from famous renowned wellness and perfume brands.Family safari tents : This family-friendly tented room features a large wooden deck with an outdoor bathtub and boasts stunning views over the serene Epacha Private Game Reserve. The tents includes a spacious lounge with cooling fans, an outdoor bath, a en-suite shower and separate toilet; a mini fridge; coffee and tea facilities; and daily room and laundry services.

Lodge Assets And Experiences

A big plus at Eagle Tented Lodge is the location inside the Epacha Game Reserve. Guests can participate in a morning, afternoon or night drive and discover the many different species on the reserve, including some rare species like the Black faced Impala and the Bat-eared fox. Of course, excursions to Etosha National Park are available as well.

The Epacha Game Lodge and Spa was the first Namibian property to combine African safari experiences with wellness, when it first opened its doors in 2001. The beautiful Spa at Epacha features a Sauna, Steam Room and 2 treatment rooms, including an open-air duo-treatment room. The lodge’s main area features a restaurant, bar and pool area. Breakfasts and dinners can be enjoyed in the main building of the lodge, boasting great views on the park. There is also a nice selection of wines offered for more than correct prices.

Another fun and unique activity at the lodge is the Clay Pigeon Shooting where you can learn shooting at clay pigeons with a shotgun or firearm.
