De L’Europe is a five star luxury hotel located in the centre of Amsterdam in The Netherlands. It is one of Amsterdam’s most prestigious and legendary hotels and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. The hotel is owned by the Heineken group and everything is done to offer guests the ultimate hotel – and gourmet – experience. Guests can enjoy great brasserie dishes at Hoofdstad Brasserie, which boasts a beautiful terrace overlooking the Amstel river. Restaurant Bord’eau is the gastronomical flagship of the hotel and offers extremely qualitative and luxurious dining, presented and managed by Executive Chef Richard van Oostenbrugge and his team. You can discover everything about this great restaurant in our restaurant section. The hotel’s bar, Freddy’s Bar (named after Freddy Heineken), was voted as the best bar in Amsterdam by the Amsterdam newspaper Het Parool. The wine cellar of the hotel is impressive to say the least. Not less than 8,000 bottles, 800 labels and a top-notch collection including top Bordeaux and Burgundies, but also exclusive bottles from Italy as special magnums of Gaja, are featured in the cellar.
The hotel is beautifully located on the banks of the Amstel River in the historic centre of Amsterdam. The premium location offers beautiful views on the river and the centre of one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. The hotel in its current structure dates from the 19th century and was designated a national monument in 2001.
Hotel De L’Europe features 111 beautifully appointed guestrooms, including 42 suites and a six-bedroom Penthouse Suite. The rooms are not the most spacious ones, which is normal in a big city like Amsterdam, but are beautifully designed with an eye for detail. The hotel is divided into two sections: the contemporary Dutch Masters Wing, which is home to 23 immaculate suites, and the timeless Rondeel Building, which houses 88 guestrooms and suites. Rooms are equipped with contemporary amenities and luxurious, more traditional comfort is combined with the latest technology, including iPads and Bose surround sound systems. Everywhere in the hotel guests will discover Iconic Dutch Masters paintings to enhance the décor and the heydays of The Netherlands.
Discerning travellers who are looking for traditional luxury, exceptional service and fantastic gastronomic options will quickly feel at home in Hotel De L’Europe. One of Amsterdam’s best.
