V Villas Phuket
Phuket, Thailand
V Villas Phuket is an exceptional villa-only property located on the island of Phuket in Thailand. 19 private pool villas are perched on the hills of Ao Yon, overlooking the Andaman ocean and Phuket island. Outstanding views, unparalleled luxury and great modern architecture make this resort one of the best choices in Phuket.
Location & Hotel
The island of Phuket is one of the most famous holiday destinations in Asia. Deservedly so, as the area truly offers something for everyone’s taste. There are breath-taking beaches, nearby national parks, famous nightlife and of course delicious Thai food. Furthermore, the island’s accommodation offer is one of the best in the world. From cheap backpackers hostels to some of the world’s most exclusive resorts: Phuket has it all.
The south side of the island is home to some of these exceptional resorts. V villas Phuket is one of the newest and most luxurious ones. The resort is managed by MGallery Hotel Collection, part of the world-leading Accor group, and opened its doors in August 2021. V Villas Phuket is located right above Ao Yon Bay, an area known for its exceptional sunsets. Ao Yon Beach can be reached by foot from the resort via a hidden pathway. The resort is located about a 1 hour drive from Phuket International Airport and a 15 minute drive from Phuket Old Town.
Perched on the Ao Yon hills, the property offers some of the best views in Phuket. The design was done by STUDIO GRONDA and inspired by the lush nature that characterises the southern tip of the tropical island. The communal areas consist out of six architectural pavilions that hover above the trees. Lots of natural materials are combined with light, natural colours and locally inspired pieces of art. All buildings are seamlessly integrated into the hills, hovering above the trees and directed towards the ocean.
Villas
V Villas Phuket boasts 19 private pool villas. They are perched on the hills, more than 35 meters above sea level, ensuring amazing ocean and hill views. They embrace the surrounding nature and are quiet and remote. High ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, and white, beige and brown colours define the laid-back yet highly luxurious atmosphere. The luxurious feeling is extended to the bathrooms, which offer a marble design, double sinks, walk-in shower and a twin spa bathtub. A 24 hour butler service ensures a careless and indulgent stay.
There are four villa types to choose from:
- One bedroom Hill View Villa: this room type offers absolute privacy and a connection to the surrounding nature. There’s 180 square meters to explore, from the spacious living area to the outdoor private infinity pool.
- One bedroom Ocean View Villa: the most popular room type offers 180 square meters of space, including a living room, big bedroom and luxurious bathroom. Floor to ceiling windows ensure unobstructed ocean views. The wooden deck surrounds the private 3 x 9 m infinity pool, where sun loungers await the guests to lounge and enjoy the views on the Andaman Ocean.
- Three bedroom Ocean View Villa: no less than 360 square meters of luxury, divided over two levels and three bedrooms. That’s what you may expect of the three bedroom ocean view villa. Floor to ceiling windows and several outdoor areas, including a private pool, offer outstanding views on the ocean.
- Four bedroom Hilltop Cliff Villa: the property’s biggest villa, which offers a generous 830 square meters of space, is also divided over two stories. There’s a spacious living room, a dining room, and a gourmet kitchen on the upper level. Truly unique are the in-villa art gallery and the wine cellar.
We stayed at one of the Ocean View Pool Villas and really enjoyed this ocean-oriented villa type. The views on the Andaman sea – especially during sunset – are mesmerising and the level of luxury is exceptional.
Resort assets
The stunning view is not the only one stealing the show at at V Villas Phuket, as there’s plenty more to discover during your stay at this wonderful resort:
-
- The resort features a breath-taking infinity pool (for those who want some variation besides their own villa pool) which measures 22 meter in length and about 6 meter wide. Several terraces with sun loungers offer amazing views on the Andaman Sea.
-
- The V Villas Spa is the place to go to unwind and relax. Six beautiful treatment rooms and a spa suite feature a natural and tranquilizing design, and several innovative treatments as well as more traditional Asian wellness programs are on offer.
-
- The Gym & Yoga Sala can also be found within the Spa area. Here, state-of-the art gym facilities offer wonderful views on the green hills just in front. There are also private yoga and pilates classes availble.
Gastronomy
The F&B outlets at V Villas stand out in terms of design and views. There are two main dining and drinking options which you will want to visit over and over again:
AKOYA|Star Lounge quickly gained recognition as one of the very best rooftop bars in Phuket. Soaring 55 metres above sea level, at the highest point of the property, the bar/restaurant boasts the very best views at the resort. A wooden platform houses three lines of seats, which can be enjoyed from day beds and sofas with small tables.
There’s an extensive wine and Champagne list, but the cocktails are excellent as well. For those hungry, there’s a tapas-inspired menu with flavours from the different regions in Thailand. During sunset, DJ’s and live bands enhance the already magical atmosphere.
- For a more extended food experience, Yon|Ocean House is the place to go. The day here starts with an extensive breakfast, including a buffet and an à la carte menu. There’s an all-day dining menu afterwards, which combines European food with some delicious Thai seafood dishes. Diners enjoy the culinary delights in one of the three dining areas, including an outdoor terrace surrounded by lush greenery. A floor-to-ceiling wine cellar houses an extensive wine list with labels from around the world. There’s an excellent cocktail bar located inside the restaurant as well.
Executive Chef Bunmee “Sorn” Nueangchaiyos oversees the kitchens at V Villas Phuket. The chef brings more than 25 years of experience to the resort and emphasises a cross-cultural cuisine which combines the flavours from Asia, Europe and the Americas. Fresh and locally sourced ingredients form the basis of his cooking. He processes these ingredients into tapas-style dishes, which are rooted in Thai and European coastal cuisines. Freshly-caught fish and shellfish (such as Phuket lobster), organic local produce and special imported ingredients (such as Wagyu) are transformed into creative and visually appealing dishes. Highlights of the menu include the “Salmon Ceviche”, which combines fresh Tasmanian Salmon with Thai citrus and spices, or the “Mr. Octopus”, in which pan-seared fresh octopus is paired with beetroot purée, coriander and a balsamic dressing.
Food and drinks can of course also be ordered in the privacy of your own villa. Floating breakfast and floating afternoon tea with these views are an amazing experience, indeed.
Why Go?
One of the newest and most luxurious properties in Phuket, V Villas feels like a breath of fresh air on the Thai island. The location steals the show: perched on a hill overlooking Ao Yon Beach, the property boasts some of the best views on Phuket Island, if not Thailand. But there’s much more than only the views. The spacious and highly luxurious private pool villas are not easy to compete with, and the AKOYA|Star Lounge is already considered as one of the best rooftop bars in Phuket.
